Can anyone school me or give product recommendations for in home pest control? I've seen some small spiders in my house lately and would prefer to treat it myself rather than calling the bug man. Will Ortho Max or other big box pesticides do the trick, or do I need something stronger? I'm ideally looking for a spray that wont stain walls or hardwood floors. Thanks in advance!

My boss lives in the country with lots of pest. He uses Tempo indoors and says it works great and is non staining. I haven't noticed any pest inside yet so I haven't used it. We both use Demon WP outdoors and it works great too. Both at Tractor Supply.

You probably aren't going to kill the spiders unless you spray it right on them. What will happen is you kill their prey insects and the spiders will go away. The prepared sprays are probably fine for in the house. Be mindful of pets and kids and follow the directions.

Then get something stronger for the outside. I have always been a fan of Demon WP. Spray the outsides of the house and then get some granules to treat your yard. Belt and suspenders approach.

Most of the stuff you are going to spray isn't going to do much with spiders. Vacuum the spiders up when you see them, make sure your house is really clean, and search for cracks around doors and windows and the like. Your vacuum cleaner is one of your best weapons against nuisance spiders in the house. A lot of insecticides are only effective against insects.

Suspend SC doe decent with spiders. I use it to keep Scorpions away, and always see dead spiders where I used it. It seems to be effective in killing most any insect as well.
