How many of you are braid with a leader of some type for most of your fishing?

I've went back and forth so many times it's ridiculous, currently most of my bottom contact and moving bait combos are braid to flouro. SS8 to Sniper with an Alberto knot, I'm not sure which is better, fish don't like me either way lol hammer

Been back and forth: cannot find a knot that doesn’t catch the guides, so it’s straight flouro

try an FG knot...tied correctly, it's the slimmest knot I've used.

Here on Toledo Bend, I just can't find any reason to use the combo, water is usually stained so why go to the trouble of having to tie knots. I don't really like flouro and the Izorline I use does a great job.

Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

I use it on everything from my swimbait rods to my Ned Rig. I like the increased sensitivity but the really most important fact is that it saves on the cost of the fluro or whatever leader line you use, only using a few feet at a time. Knots are are problem on microguide rods so I don't use them. I have been using the Lefty Kreh knot for many years without issue.

I've recently switched over to the Lefty knot. It's SO small, yet holds so well.

I always find myself asking this same question too. I like have to worry about the memory of flouro, so im thinking of going back to braid to flouro.

I don't like fluorocarbon, but I use it. I like the FG knot, but I don't use it. No patience to figure it out. Crazy alberto is the knot for me with no more than 20 to 30 lb braid. I fish Fork, and most people question me when I say I use 14 or 12 or 10 lb sunline sniper. The thing is, I get more bites. Only had one break my line and I think it was a freight train bowfin. I know its more knots than I want, but have never found fluorocarbon that doesn't coil badly especially as it ages. Have switched back and forth several times because braid will terminally overrun. Several of our older club members have gone back to big game mono. Right now I am using sniper with 832 braid connected with the crazy alberto.

Micro guides on one of my rods caused me to stop using a leader. That’s now a frog rod exclusively for me.

Braid to leader on every rod except frog rod.
As mentioned, once you get into 20lb+ test (Crazy Alberto), unless you have regular sized guides, I’d make it a three foot leader. My best treble hook swimbait rod has guides that are smaller than standard, but not micro guides. Even a three foot leader makes a big difference with some give on the hookset and forgiveness close to the boat.

All my rods have either braid or flouro. None have leaders

I hate to admit this but the last time I was on Fork my partner outfished me by 3 fish that day using old faded braid that was probably green at one time, tied straight to his T-rig. I was using straight fluoro and we were both throwing same soft plastic bait. hammer
