Went out for a few hours this afternoon. Water temps were 77-79 in the coves looks like this full moon has brought up a fresh wave of spawners. Caught quite a few flipping a jig into isolated bushes in 4-6ft. Caught one nice one 4.9lbs. All had beat up tails. Good luck out there fellas hope this helps a few of you!

I usually launch at Scott's or somewhere on the southeast side of the lake since those are the closest for me. Been wanting to learn the twin coves side a bit more lately though because I've heard good things just never had much luck over there.

That's a good looking fish...my luck hasn't been so great lately. I was thinking the spawn might have declined if not ended by now.

Thanks, yeah I was thinking the same. Was pretty surprised to find them spawning this late but maybe all this unstable water has delayed them some? I've been in the same boat until this trip these flooded conditions were kicking my teeth in, never could find them consistently. Now may be the time to get out there. Hope your luck turns around. cheers

Spawn ain't over folks. Wanna guess how many LMB are in the Vine or any other DFW area lake? You think they all spawn in a 4-6 week period? No sir-ee. Feb-May. Even earlier and even later. Every year. However, nice fish and good job! If ya keep em honest every time you fish you'll be less surprised!

If you can't find em wind em.
