I have a strange request and need some help..

I have a New to Me 2011 Nitro with a 115 Mercury and after doing some research it appears that the prop that I'm running might be too much. I have a Laser II 22pitch 3 blade prop currently and its very slow getting on plane. I think I should be using a 17 or 15 pitch prop, I'm 6'1 250lbs and my fishing buddy is also a big guy. With both of us in the boat or when I take the wife and kiddos out, its slow getting there.

I would like to test both props to see which one would work the best for me. Does someone in the Fort Worth area have a 17 or 15 pitch prop that I can use to test out. I would hate to spend a couple of hundred dollars on the wrong prop. Or has anyone tried these 2 props on a similar motor that can give me any feedback.

I'm no expert but I think that the 22 pitch is way too much.

Get it right the first time, base your prop size on loaded max rpms.
So, with your regular fishing load, full throttle, full trim what is your rpms? Based on that you can get what you need.

I think it’s either going to be a 19 or 17.

I'm turning around 5400rpms with a full load

I ran a 19 pitch when I had a 125 hp so I’d think you’d need a little less
