I know the feeling of fishing Lewisville in high winds.
He is truly a sick individual.

Wait! Where’d you find a 10’ sock?

Thanks fellas! The boat is a battleship Fredo and was built for rollers!
Easterlin Sea Anchors out of South Carolina is where the 10’ sock came from Ed...They are high quality and ain’t cheap but really helpful in 20+ mph winds. I got 8 different socks in varying sizes in the boat and use them all in different configurations for different conditions.

How are you fishing the wind blown points? Anchored and casting towards the bank or along the edges of the points, or drifting across them? Really enjoy your posts!!

Thanks Jonathan! First I mark em with my bird. Then I determine how the fish are relating to structure. Are they on top, Bottom of the ledge? Which side of point and how Shallow or deep? Once I’ve scanned the point good I pin the areas I see fish. I power drift em several different ways depending on the wind. I fish out the back so I can move the boat around with the trolling motor and hit specific features and fish I’ve pinned. If the wind is 10mph or less I start up shallow and put my nose into the wind and and i use i-pilot link and trolling motor to pull me into the wind across my pins and out onto the point and into the deeper water. When I start getting bit I slow way down with I-pilot cruise control and almost sit on top of them in the sweet spot pulling .1-.2 mph. If the wind is over 10mph I start out in deep water and line up with my targets and let the wind blow me. I use my I-pilot link to move me around and hit my targets. There is usually a sweet spot on structure that you want to hit and try and stay in. Boat control is paramount and it’s very easy to miss your lines when fishing points. Nothing more frustrating then getting all your lines deployed and realize you missed your drift line and have to reel everything up. I pilot link stops that from happening has changed the way I fish.
