This is the apocalypse we are talking about here, Hop. There will obviously only be small pockets of survivors remaining to use the electricity. Usage won’t be a problem. The more pertinent issue will be line drop over long distances.

so I better go load some more magazines?

So you want more reading material? ....says a liberal who thinks you put "hundreds of clips in your assault rifle" (whatever that is....).

So every power plant needs a source to start up, whether it be from grid power, generator or a smaller unit. The plants that don’t utilize grid power and have their own start up source are called black start units. Our plant is not a black start plant meaning, if the grid goes down, we go down. Most of your larger MW producing plants have a black start unit. Lake Striker is a black start unit for Martin Creek.

Most of the plants in south Louisiana and around the texas coast have black start units because of hurricanes etc. as long as the transmission line switches, relays and breakers are in service, then we will never have an issue. Cyber attacks happen at the grid level, transmission. If transmission goes completely down then yeah we are [censored]... so remember the next time you want to purchase a whole home generator, if if the grid goes down, how are you going to get natural gas? My plant burns natural gas, if the gas companies don’t have power, you ain’t getting gas.

There are three distinct grids in the US. East coast, west coast, and Texas. They are technically connected, but they are independently operated, and there isn't a lot of power that flows between them.

We need to work on harnessing the hot wind that blows from the bunker.

Our grid overall sucks, waiting on the government cheese to improve, but electric companies get paid just like oil companies so they should start improvement

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Our grid has yet to keep my plant for starting up so I’d say rather strong to quite strong.

If the grid goes down, you'll soon have no gas, no electricity, no water, no phone, no food deliveries, no medicine, no TFF, etc. You better have some kind of a plan though, something to barter, and quite a bit of ammo. More so, a communal plan of whatever kind, as "gangs" or "pack mentality" would become the norm as there is far greater strength in numbers. What do you think even a smaller, metropolitan area would look like after just a week or so of total darkness and all conveniences and supplies vanishing? No bueno

It would look a lot like Arlington.
