Yamaha VMAX V150TLR 2006 model.

I was inspecting the motor after initial startup for the first time this year. On the starboard side of the motor towards the front, I found a piece (see picture) sitting there. I can't find what it goes to, where it goes, or what purpose it has. The motor ran fine on the trailer with a flusher connected. I turned it off after finding this part laying there and don't want to do anything else until it's been identified.

I've looked all through the parts explosions I could find, and have had no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas what it is, or it's importance?

Its the choke rod look on side and you will see a round canister looking thing that goes in and the wire end goes to carbs

Perfect thanks! I see now that it is coming off the pin holding the rod/wire onto the linkage. I put it back on and it keeps coming off. Should I just try an crimp it back down around it somehow, or is there some sort of retaining ring that is supposed to go on it?

Also, what the purpose of the solenoid it goes into?
