Went to Fayette and the first thing I noticed is that they had a sign on the checkin window "No Cast Netting or Bank Fishing". Little good did that do because there were at least 3 separate groups cast netting with one group with masks and hand nets. Also saw a group with a seine. Less grass then when I was out there several weeks ago. I wonder why. Caught over 30 with a couple of 7 pounders. All Texas rig in under 8 feet of water.

It does absolutely no good to post a sign and not enforce the rule. TPWD or LCRA's own agents should be out there everyday.

Absolutely. It has gotten out of hand there.

this is where you call TPWD and report them. The folks at the shack have zero authority/control other than just taking money.

I was out there yesterday. Cast netters in 5 different coves. Working in shifts actually. I watched a jon boat pick up three guys, take them to bank and bring out another three to pick up where the first group left off. I did catch some bass on the dam.

The cast netting can be legally done on the lake if each individual has commercial fishing license and if they are immediately removing the heads or gutting the tilapia.

The wording was in both English and Spanish. Although the Spanish could have said Cast Netters and Bank Fishing Welcomed!

I'm hearing rumors about people being threatened by others at Fayette, to the point that they will not go back till something is done. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
