growing up working cows with my dad and buddies , i was always the smallest. So , I would get to climb in the chute and pull the tail straight back over their spine. This would supposedly to keep them from kicking. Dad;s buddy would come in the back with the clamps and state that if that calf kicked him, I would be the next clamped. I durn near pulled some tails out by the roots.

I’m at a cattle branding this morning. Got a really nice shot of a calf getting branded. The photo comes out really well, so posted it on my Instagram. Immediately after, I start getting flooded with messages from people saying how cruel I am. Are people too stupid to realize what goes into making the food they eat? The answer to your question above is yes.

Would hate to see what happens when the snowflakes find out we give them ear rings too! I honestly thought they did not brand them anymore; only the ear tags.

Some people crack me up. Oh and ear tags can get ripped out, and that’s an even bigger mess. Branding is simply the best and most expedient way to get it done and over with. It’s hot, hard, dangerous work.
If you wanna have oversized pet dogs, by all means enjoy your guernsey. Beef cattle are a whole other thing.

Surprised Instagram didn’t pull it down, for “ violating community guidelines “ . Which is just a fancy way of saying it offended someone.

Are people too stupid to realize what goes into making the food they eat? Most likely. It was probably a bunch of petas and vegans though. Someone should start a whole thing about how vegetables are alive and have feelings and souls and are being murdered for turnabout's sake

Man if people freaked out about that, I would suggest you never show a bull being de-horned. A good friend of mine worked a ranch and man it was brutal watching the process. I won't get into the details here but by the time he got through it looked like he had been on a 3 day killing spree with a butcher knife. It will make an impression on you! LOL After that, seeing them get branded was no big deal.

Here’s the crazy thing.... beef prices are UP and we got LESS today for our calves. Any guesses why? The meat packing plants have been closed due to Corona so there’s nobody to process the beef! C’mon Trump! Let’s get these folks back to work. The supply/demand chain is all boogered up. Don’t post real world stuff on IG.
