The problem is that sometimes the when I put my foot on the pedal and push the button for power, the motor comes on but when I lift my foot off the pedal, the power is still on and the motor running and I have to bump the button several times to get it to shut off. It is in manual mode and not full time run mode. It does not do this all the time but enough of the time to be a real pain. I took it to an authorized Minnkota service repair center in Lewisville and the button and the spring underneath it were replaced but it is still doing it. The tech there said he didn't know what else to do. I called Minnkota directly and talked to a tech and they sent me the same button and spring as was already replaced once but they didn't know either.
I am about to throw this thing away and just get a Lowrance Ghost and be done with it. Looking to see if anybody has any recommendations before I chunk this thing. I have been less than impressed with Minnkota's help on this issue.

customer service is why I went to garmin after nothing but humminbirds/minnkota tm.

check the garmin tm over the ghost, had mine for a couple of months now and lovin it.

as for current problem, spray some wd40 under the switch so it gets to the plastic on plastic and see if that loosens it up, check micro switch for gunk around the contact point. sounds like something is just hanging up from friction.

On mine , the magnet in the foot pedal switch is adjustable.
sounds like you need to move it away from the switch a few thousands.

i use a small screwdriver to move the magnet in its holder.
Hope this helps
