Looking for something to safely travel with my rods.

Not air travel but truck travel.

I have a longbed so no problem to lay them in the bed. But right now I lay them in there loose and I know there is a better way.

I’d like to travel with them with reels attached.

PVC? A.R.E makes one that attaches to your bed cap, but you can make one yourself for less than half the price, I’m sure. You could also cater it to fit in your bed, and you could load rods opposite directions to get the most out of the space. Google it, I’m sure there are plans on the internet for what you’re looking for.

I transport mine with rod socks in the hull of my kayak. I have a short bed and the rods don’t fit in there anyway, so I just load my kayak in there on a bed extender, and the rods are inside the hull. Works great.

I bought a 4 inch PVC thin walled pipe. It is used for the overflow of a septic system. It holds 6 rods with reels. Think it was from Lowes or Home Depot. Slide them in the bell end with rod socks on the rods.

Reel covers and rod socks. Unless you're driving through a corn field they should be fine.

I have a new never used soft side zip case. I believe it holds 8 rods and reels. You can have it if you want to come and help me look for it in the shop. I truly do not remember getting rid of it. It is out there somewhere. It has the carry straps to take them all in when you get there.

Get a couple of bungee cords and stretch them across your bed - two sets in the rear and a double set towards tailgate. Put you reels in the rear double bungee and tips thru the tailgate one... Easy and safe. Won't get banged up or scratched.

Its much more serious than that.
