He still fishes? roflmao

As a divermaster with almost 1000 dives I can say what you see looking up (in water with enough clarity) are silhouettes. In the case of that saltwater boat, they got it backwards. The unblocked surface is incredibly bright, and any fish between a diver's vantage point and the surface are simply silhouettes. So, the hull should be a light color, and the fish outlines should be black. However, that would make keeping the hull looking clean a lot of work. That paint scheme was "cool looking" but not representative of what you would see.

Boats cast a shadow even partially occluded deeper water that makes it get noticed just like when you might look up as a cloud blocks the sun. In shallow water light reflects off the lake bottom and back up to the bottom of a boat, where it is dispersed into the surrounding water. I've been in shallow water when boats approached, and there is a difference noticed around you. If the wetted hull is white, you get the most increase in brightness. If's it black, it can get a bit dimmer. A medium gray seems to have the least effect, but again, they all put off a shadow. I think it is this that makes more of a difference, and not necessarily what's above the surface. If you get close, trust me, that boat being non-transparent makes a lot more difference than shirt color.

Had a huge fish one time at Alan Henry on a bed. Very spooky fish. I had an orange “picture shirt” on and she would not bite. Changed to a drab light tan shirt and she bit(after hours of stealth). Not sure if it mattered but now I sight fish on sunny days with a sail blue shirt and on cloudy days with a light gray or khaki shirt. I think it does matter for heavily pressured spawning fish that I’m trying to sight fish for. Not sure if it matters otherwise. I could be wrong but for me it’s a confidence thing based on experience so that’s what I do. It also helps to crouch rather than stand at times-that I know from experience so it’s not a reach to say that color matters. The largemouth bass in shallow water can perceive things that are potentially threatening from above so it makes sense.

Camo chinos, sky blue polo shirt, sand colored Crocs for bass fishing.

I dont think fish as a rule can see you until they get to the boat or your in very clear water, which we have very little of around here. That being said I wear primarily white UA shirts once the temp gets over 80 never cotton anymore, cotton is just too dang hot. White reflects heat, black absorbs it. Common sense if you want to stay cool in the summer time. Same with hats. Wear white you will stay cooler!

I wore this shirt fishing once. A 6 pounder jumped in the boat & bit me. Never again!

Im thinking about getting some shirts and shorts that have a school of shad printed on them to get the bass hungry and ready to eat. Im also thinking about hanging Alabama rigs all around the boat on rod holders to look like schools of shad all around the boat. Do you think that will help? I am also considering getting a warp for the bottom of my boat that shows a bass eating a finesse worm on a drop shot since my wife loves to drop shot. That should get her more bites.

What about the cap you wear? Does that make a difference to the fish?

I also think I will paint the motor on my T/M to look like a bass instead of just black.

No different than the tackle, line, rod, etc. If you think it makes a difference then it does. The Higgs Boson theory, string theory, everything is related,

And then you get to the point that you are overthinking what you are doing. Complicate it too much.
