After another day crappie fishing and once again losing the exact spot the wife wanted to fish, she is pushing for a anchor type trolling motor. It’s a wonderful situation, her wanting to spend money on the boat gear without me begging. What I had pretty much made up my mind on is a Minn Kota Ultrex 80#. But, the fish finder I want is a Garmin 93UHD with livescope. So, what I need from you knowledgeable fellows is whether or not these two units will go together well. I don’t think they can communicate, but is that going to be a problem? How important is it that the fish finder and trolling motor communicate?
I’m pretty set on going with a Garmin fish finder and livescope, but I am flexible on the trolling motor make, as long as it does a good job. From what I read Minn Kota does the best job with fewer issues.
I’m about to spend serious money and I really want to get it right the first time. Thanks.

Nobody responded, but never mind. Problem solved. Will place orders today or tomorrow with Mygreenoutdoors.

The Ultrex doesn’t need to communicate with the Garmin. I have the same Ultrex with Lowrance graphs. The troller has everything it needs to fully function included with it. MyGreenOutdoors will be able to fully answer anything and everything about both brands.

I went with the Ultrex TM. Fishfinders will be a Garmin 106 at the bow and a 93 at the console. That’s some expensive stuff.
Mygreenoutdoors was indeed a great help.

It’ll all be connected so the wife can see livescope on the 93 at the console. This whole expense is about her seeing and catching fish. The more fish she catches, the happier she’ll be, and the more fishing we’ll do. It was the wife that said “we need the Ultrex”. I hope I don’t wake up and this was a dream.
I used to be a bass fisherman primarily. She hates bass fishing. I guess I’m a crappie fisherman now. Maybe...just maybe, all this new gear will help me turn her at least slightly toward bass fishing.
