My folks just moved our boat to North Side Marina, so looks like Bridgeport is the new home lake (we were on EM, but they moved to Bridgeport). You guys who fish Bridgeport, what do y’all catch as far as channels vs blues? Are there any big fish in Bridgeport at all? Never found big fish on EM, but could count on atleast 4 or 5 blues in the 4-6 lb range every trip.

Blues are starting to pick up in numbers and size, good flathead lake. I haven't targeted any channels but caught a few nice ones on minnows .

Blues are starting to get better. I know of 1 that went 38lbs back in early fall. If you are keeping you boat in the water get ready for Zebra Mussel's they are thick in B'Port.

Best bet would be to sour some grain and bait you 4-5 spots. There's a ton of good channels in that lake. I catch 'em when I'm Hybrid fishin! Haha

Well, fished BP for the first time yesterday evening. Found some thread fin, 1 gizzard shad that was atleast 12” long, and I had some strawberry garlic chicken breast (backup plan Incase I couldn’t find bait on a new lake. Having never fished it, I was going in blind, started where I would normally start, found some shallow water with some light timber and vegetation, but couldn’t find the fish, caught 1 channel that was too small to keep. I wanted to drift the main lake hump, but the win was a little to high for my 4 and 7 year old to enjoy it, so we turned around and went back shallow.

Gunna need to get navionics on my phone again. Our lowrance has gps, but we don’t have the navionics chip, so I can’t see anything other than depth. When we were on EM, I had fished it enough times that I knew a little better what was under water as far as channels and roadbeds and such.
