I currently have 3 of the greenies....CU 200's with 5 bearings. Here’s the story on each…
1st one was already a problem child. When casting the brakes would turn on mid flight and casting gets shortened. So the brakes don't hold. I'm pretty sure this is a problem with the spool assembly??? Particularly the black "shoe" that the brake collars fit into?? And if that's the case, my understanding is they don't make the spool assembly anymore.

2nd one....worked just fine until Thursday night!!! This is one I had just told a fishing buddy that I was thinking of selling (wife got me the curado DC 150hg for Christmas 2 years ago and I found my new love!!). Now when I cast AND when I reel I get a ticking sound. Ticking sound goes with speed of spool moving. Like when you put baseball cards in the spokes of your bike as a kid!! I took the reel apart and all gears and everything looks good. Brake collars stay in place so I'm afraid it's the spool assembly as well. It casts better than #1 (using same rod, lure, settings) but not as good as #3

The 3rd one works just fine. Smooth cast, smooth reel. Only noise it makes at all is slight when line is going out during cast so I’m thinking that’s all that is. It's now sitting on the bench while I decide to put it back in play or trade it!!!

Any ideas on reels 1 and 2 what might be problem?

Haven’t really seen brakes not holding...I’ve seen what your describing on a reel with not enough line on the spool...clicking could be something in the worm gear as well

I had my six green Curados refurbished 2 years ago, and the mechanic allowed as how many internal parts for those reels are getting harder to find. You might want to contact a Shimano service center about the problems you describe.

I dont have shop anymore but I can share with you several things to check.
The greenies were notorious with pin problems on spool. Wiggle each with fingers.
If one is loose, pull it and then skip one and pull next one. If all loose, then you got a a flipping reel
Some shops glued the pins, we never had too good luck doing that
I never used tool to pull pins. I held spool in palm of hand and with pliers, pull straight out.
Be careful not to bend pin.
Also, if you've oiled tips of brake, you might have gotten too much oil. In left side plate, the spool sits in ( can't think of name of part) wipe it out. Also, a bad bearing might cause the stopping of the cast. Be sure bearing is clean and serviced. Spin test bearing for noise and how long it spins. Should spin freely. Use only ONE
Drop of oil in bearing. I hope these tid bits might help. It been awhile.
