I fish mainly for sandies and stripers, never had any luck on granbury. My opinion granbury not much of a fishery, mainly water sport lake. I stopped going to granbury a couple years ago. I like whitney, cedar creek, twok.

We'll occasionally catch a 8-11lb striper while fishing for Bass. Straight across from the pumping station down by the dam, you can troll Rat L Traps in shad colors in about 9-12ft of water and each dozens and sand bass. Occasional a striper is mixed into it. I agree, the lake really needs an injection of striper stocking but wonder if the TPWD is listening. We definitely have had a natural spawn within the last couple years because we went out one day in that same area and caught maybe 20-30 small stripers in the 8-10" size. That water I'm talking about is very shallow almost a 1/4 mile out so make sure you use a graph and watch your map. It'll show you where the drop offs are. If you go out right before sunrise, you may catch them on the surface also. I agree this lake is mostly for jet skis and wake boats but you can find them. During the height of the virus and most of DFW was shut down, you could walk across the lake on top of bass boats which made it miserable. Seems to be getting better now.

Sandies are probably starting to head back from the river. There are Stripers in there. I've done best with Shad this time of year and deadsticking in the colder months though. Navionics Webb App is your friend.

What do you think the chances of the TPWD restocking Granbury? I sure we’ve lost thousands of decent sized ones to the floods over the last two years and it would be great to help replenish the supply chain. What do you think?
