I’m heading down to Amistad next week. I haven’t fished it in 5 years. How has it been fishing lately and what tackle should I bring? When I fished it in the past this time of year, jigs, worms, senkos, jerk baits, and frogs were all I needed.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tips! Three of us are fishing out of one boat and we’re not taking mine so I’m traveling light. Three rods and one box. We used to make the trip 8-10 times a year alternating boats and trucks. Damn my fishing partners are getting old. One of them says it’s his last big trip, and it’s not that far.

The quality of fish is not what it used to be and it took us two days to figure them out, but we managed to catch a few.

Thanks Debra! The Spooks came in handy every morning.
