Started out with buzz baits and frogs around the shad. They actually never went to the bank to do there thing.
Found groups of fish around the shad but they were not interested with any presentation presented.
Only thing interested were giant sand bass. Some of the biggest i have seen in years, some would measure up to 15 inches.
The drum were also out the play.
Went to all the rock piles and it was the same. nothing interested.
we pitched the willows and buck brush for hours with out any takers.
Was a fun day of fishing,,having the whole lake to ourselves. Waters still dropping like a rock. about 6 inches a day. wont be long till the bite will be on fire.
If you want to get out the birds will show you the way to find the sand bass and schools of bass and drum.
They will also so you the giant schools of carp.
Made it a good day and will do it again on another lake.

There are lots of spots in the lake. usually the north shore;Ines. just think rock.
