You mean to tell me there is more to bass fishing than the sport of just catching them. They are actually good to eat.Who would have thunk it.I put them with those slabs I like to catch as the best eating fish.Just rarely keep them.

I think a slot limit (like Fork) is fullish. Fullish in believing that it will work. You might as well just have a big min. limit, cause everyone is throwing the small ones back anyway. They should make you keep every fish under the min. and leave it to your discresion (how do you spell that), as to what to do with the big ones. Otherwise your gonna have a lake full of bass up to but not including the max. limit.
My first bass on Fork (and the only one caught that day) was a 21 inch 7.75 pound beauty. Not big enough for the wall, but it sure ate good.

I still think its funny to hear people say that without C&R our grandkids won't ever be able to catch a bass.
If this is true, I guess we need to apply this practice with all types of game... next year, we all should go deer hunting with a taser gun. Stun the buck, snap a pic and let him go so someone else can zap him!!

Exactly COFF...
I'd be more worried about there being no more crappie, bluegill, or catfish for the future. Hell...people keep tons of those things, brag about keeping limits of monsters, etc. You think bass aren't fairly prolific? Go stock a pond with catfish and one with bass...have bluegill in both. See which one runs out of bluegill and gets overpopulated with predators the quickest.
No fish is too good for the grease.

Fish die every year. They're not immortal. Once it grows some 10 inches they have very few natural predators. Culling can have positive results in a fish population. What you really want to do is try and maintain a balance between keeping too little and keeping too much.
