I hadn't been fishing for about a month and the wind was pretty strong yesterday, but I decided to take out my 3 wt and 4 wt.

I've been tying my own flies lately and have become enamoured with purple so I had a purple beadhead bunny leach on the 4 wt and a purple rubber legged dragon on the 3 wt.

I managed 1 bass on the 4 wt.



And 5 bluegill and 4 green sunfish on the 3 wt






I've caught a lot of bass on black rubber legged dragons, but the sunfish were the only thing hitting the purple one.

I went out today on a different pond and didn't get a bite. I told myself that they just weren't biting today, but as I drove off a guy on a different part of the pond with a baitcaster pulled in a bass.

That first Bluegill is quite lovely.if I were a painter, that would be the one. Those look like some dandy sized ones also. Good stuff right there.
I'm hoping to get out and shoot a Bluegill video with my wife if the wind will stop blowing.

They were pretty big bluegills. They're a lot of fun on the 3 wt.
