Hi everyone. Hope this message finds you all healthy. Most of our members I have been in contact with are doing well and that is great news. There was a conference call with the Club Officers this week to discuss the Club events for the month of May.

The meeting is cancelled. Dallas County has extended the Shelter In Place order until May 15th so we cannot do it. Secondly, in case you have not heard, Bass Pro Shops has closed their restaurant. Permanently. So at this time we have no place to meet. I will be in touch with the management there to discuss possible options on using the patio or somewhere else in the Store for us to hold our meetings. If not, we will be looking for a new meeting place. I'm not sure with the current regulations when meetings will resume. As always, I will keep you informed.

After discussion with the Officers we have also decided to cancel the May Tournament on Cypress Springs. Could we possibly have done it using the rules for keeping people separated? Probably, but it would have been some hoops for everyone to jump through. What it comes right down to is we aren't willing to take the risk of someone getting or spreading this virus while it is still peaking in this area. I know many of you will be disappointed to say the least in this decision but this was a unanimous decision amongst the Officers. One other aspect. Many of you are dealing with very uncertain financial situations right now and you don't need an additional burden of fuel, lodging and entry fees to be paid. This is an unprecedented decision, but we have never faced anything like this before, and hope to never have to again.

The plan going forward is to permanently cancel the April and May tournaments reducing our schedule to 7 tournaments for the year. You will need to fish 4 of 7 to qualify for the Championship in November. The schedule will pick up in June at Lake Tawakoni with a meeting if possible at a different location to be announced. I will keep you all posted on any news going forward.

Thanks and stay safe everyone

Are you waiving the community event too? I am sure that several members are wondering about this aspect to qualifying too. There are those of us that were boat captains for high school teams such as myself that already have the community event qualification, but I am sure there are others who do not, but would really like to know if that portion is going to be waived along with the cancellation of the April/May tournaments.

Thanks and stay safe!!

We'll have to see how the next few months play out Jeff. I'm not sure how many community events we will have. It is something we will discuss at a meeting, when and if we are allowed to have one and the Club will vote on it one way or another

With the stay at home order lifted and group of 10 being able to gather, is there a way to maybe look at holding an event?? State orders with supersede any local level mandates. Surely if malls, restaurants, and bars can operate, a fishing tournament should be ok. We could move the date back a weekend and let people prepare. Maybe another meeting with the officers?

Let's do a Virtual Meeting and return the May tournament to somewhere local so you aren't worried about people travelling and the associated expenses! Maybe Swap Ray Hubbard or Tawakoni?

Good idea on lake change. Tawakoni, Hubbard, Lavon, Lew all easy for metroplex guys to get to. Minimal costs associated with travel.

Lol. Its been a minute since I ventured up in to that mud hole! I've just been trying to find Doug's fish down South. No luck there either.

I agree with Tom. Let's get through this mess and get back up and running in June. We are close to getting past this mess and we'll be fishing sooner than later.

We'll be back in June on Tawakoni, that gives us plenty of time to prefish for it.

Guys, the Club leadership is set on our decision. Feel free to fish all you like and find other tournaments that are starting up and hop in with both feet. RHBC will get started again with our Tawakoni tournament on June 13th. We will keep you informed as to status of a meeting.
