Does it use the same bolt pattern as the Fortrex?
Is it advisable to get a kick disconnect mount in case of service or storage needs? If so, which brand?
Is the puck hard to install and where would it usually be put?
Anything else I need to know.
What is a fair price to have a pro install it?

Same bolt pattern as a Fortex and the GPS puck is easy to install following the instructions. If you would like contact David at 'Shut-up and Fish'. He will be able to help and even price both the unit and installation too. Highly recommended!!

I won't let most "pro installers" near my boat. I've even seen "pros" who would drill new holes in a boat to install a Fortrex where a Motorguide used to be, and that's usually unnecessary. There are slightly hidden holes available in the Fortrex bracket that will let it land on Motorguide mounting holes.

I swapped mine in a couple hours including selecting puck placement and mounting it, works great.

Thanks. Did you use add a quick disconnect mount?
