The son-in-law and I are taking the kayaks out to Lake Naconiche tomorrow afternoon. We have never been to this lake so any And all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Don’t know how the fishing is just know WOOD lots of wood

Went today. Lake was full of people. Very stained up both arms and maybe 1' visibility on the main lake. Fished from 5:00 a - Noon and got one bite. Weighted 4.48. Lake has risen prolly a foot since last Friday. Caught an 8.99 last week in 6-8' fow on glide bait. The entire north bank from the boat ramp to the dam is full of grass. That's where I'd fish if I was in a Kayak. Pretty windy today and I would think it woulda been really tough fishing in a kayak.

Right from the ramp, third boat lane bouy, start fishing there, underspins for schoolers or 1.5 square bills or smaller, Jerk baits that will run 6', senkos riggeg wacky in green pumkin or watermelon reed out in the timber. Small swim baits on a slow steady retrieve so they bump the tops of the timber 4 - 8' down. You can work your way on up that arm using the same techniques. This lake is setting up a lot like Pinkston as far as schoolers and the action can be tremendous. The thermocline will keep the fish in the top 10" of the water column for the most part. Lots of grass up that arm to fish as well. Tight lines!

Stumbled across that exact same area a few years ago and caught schoolers for hours almost every cast. Good times.

That first link to Lake Naconiche Retreat I have stayed a few times. Great place to stay as long as you bring some food to grill. It’s a haul to town.

Lots of wood lots of grass. If you stay at the cabins, you can launch from there. Boat ramp fee is $3 per driver and +1 per passenger. If you go to town I recommend Clear Spring restaurant they have some pretty good fried fish and other stuff. (assuming they are open) Any pinch point in the lake is a good spot. There is a road bed on the southern telesco arm and it's pounded, so does that first narrow down on the arm. But lots of schoolers and small fish. It needs a good population thinnig to get those big girls some room. Lots of threadfin shad in the lake.

I am gonna have to get down for a 2-3 day trip but it's looking more like fall now. Thanks for the info guys.

Do they still have the boom across the upper end of the lake to keep the Salvinia out

Go towards the end of October or later and the thermocline should have diminished considerable by then allowing fish to start setting up on key structure off shore. That's when I like it best anyway.
