Sorry for the delay this year in reports guys, been a crazy few months as most of you guys know. Between work, and shuffling kids around, (home schooling) its been nuts!
I guess Ill pick up from right now and move forward into Summer. We are starting off most mornings right now hitting points with Herons on them. Usually I look for more than 1 up by the bank. We are throwing a 3/8oz. Z-spin by Santone with a new prototype swimbait by Mister Twister that will be out this June. So be on the lookout for that! I really think anything shad color will work. We've thrown 4 different colors in this new bait, and they've bit on all of them. If the bites slows for a few minutes, throw a fluke in that same area. It will pick up a few extra bites for you.
After that bite slows down we have been mainly targeting bed fish. I think things are winding down a bit, but there are still a bunch of beds around. The deeper beds are obviously holding the bigger fish, and the smaller males are closer to the bank and more visible. you would not believe how many people I see going right over beds and not even seeing them. The best advice I can give you is to slow down and really look for any movement on those deeper beds. With the bed fish we are using a Mister Twister Buzz Bug in Fork special and Red River special color. Make sure you peg your weight and use a glass bead. It will get you bit alot quicker than a normal straight weight to hook set up.

And if you like the explosions......throwing a frog right now is very good in spots. But don't be afraid to throw it. There's times if one of us is on abed fish, the other will throw a frog around the vegetation close to that bed, and pick up a fish every now and then. I'm using a spro popping frog but really haven't noticed a difference in frog colors or popping or walking. You put it on top of them, and they are crushing it!

Last but not least is out deep! We have starting graphing a few spots and finding some fish starting to stack up. We've caught some out deep, but I'd say not enough to write home about. Im guessing that between now and the next 2 weeks, they will really start setting up nice out deep with feed bags on! I haven't really paid much attention to water temps cause I haven't turned my front graph on hardly at all the last several trips.

I hope this helps any of you guys going out this week or in the next 2 or 3 weeks to come.
