Lovfldx...Nice fatties...I have never fished for bluegill at night. Is it any different than daytime ? maybe slower ? Are you fishing lake, river, creek or pond ?

It is pretty much the same as daytime, except that you can walk up on beds and not spook em. I seldom if ever fish live bait. 32nd and 16th oz jigs are deadly on sunfish. I don't use a bobber of any type, I usually make a long cast and slowly bring it through the bedding areas. The bonus to that is that at night, marauding largemouths, looking for an easy dinner of bluegill eggs as well as the bluegills themselves, will inhale the jig first, and then all manner of night time chaos breaks out! Gotta love it.
These came from a pond, but same technique will work in a lake or creek. I'll post pics of some of the massive bass I've caught in the past using this approach a bit later
