Headed there for the first time this year. Wife and kiddos tagging along so might be challenging today. Will have a few slip corks with jigs on deck for crappie but will mainly looking for bass. Will be launching mid lake on west side. Will report back this evening with how I did. Good luck to everyone this weekend and be safe..... been seeing more and more inexperienced ppl on the water as it’s warming

The 15 mph north wind might add to your challenges but any time spent on the water with family is sure to make memories.

Good luck to you & be safe!

Well, back home finally!!! Was a rough adventure with the my 2 little sidekicks. We launched and immediately I started counting boats. All of them out of the wind. So I went to the first set of docks dead in the north wind and fought it. Started with a square bill and the sand bass were loving it!!! 1.5 chartreuse with black back. Switched over to the flipping stick and pitched a pegged rage bug blk/blue with 1/2oz weight. Immediately started catching a few. Did it all day basically with a swim jig mixed in. Had one good one about 5sh flipping and lost one on the swim jig I never saw. Bear a few docks by the creek channel for crappie but struck out. Water was lightly stained and was 68-70deg where I was. Also, I’ve herd how crowded it has been there but it looked like the skeeter tournament where I was. Granted, not all were bass fishing. Saw quite a few crappie boats also.

Sounds like you had a pretty good day considering the strong north wind. One of the problems with spring time at Fork is when the wind blows hard it tends to compress folks into the calm areas. It makes the lake seem more crowded than it is due to everyone piling into the sheltered coves.
