I am having fuel issues I think... was wanting a mechanic to listen to it and see what they think... motor cuts out when trying to get on plane... also if it gets up when ever you hit rough water it cuts out also... I may change out VST and see if that works... any ideas?

I ended up replacing the water separator filter on the side of the engine and the VST filter… Total cost about $150 and the boat ran perfectly… I was pretty excited! I had talk to a couple of dealers and they were saying anywhere between $501,000 to go through the fuel system…

That motor has 12 filters on it. Maintenance of the fuel system is key to protect your power head. There are 8 ea. "Mystery Filters" six in the injectors and two in the high pressure pumps. They cost about $1 each but are a PITA to change.
There are the two you already replaced. There is an inline filter just above the VST tank. You should also have one inside your bilge. If not you need to add one. It is also a water separator with a throw away canister like an oil filter on a car.

There is also 2 ea low pressure fuel lift pumps, about $40 each that may need replacing depending on the age/hours on the motor and if it does not rev up properly.

Changing all of them except the injectors is pretty easy, but you have to pull the fuel rails off to change the ones on the injectors. Most people have the injectors rebuilt and flow calibrated every couple of years. Cost for that is about $25 each, but you have to pull them off the motor and send them to someone that has a flow bench.

Lack of fuel system maintenance is the #1 cause of blown power heads on these HPDI motors.
