I know that Buchannan is supposed to be a good Stryper fishing..
Going to bring my boat up from the coast for a few weeks and plan to get out to Buchannan on Sunday to mainly give my wife some fun time on the water and out of the house.. she is not into fishing..

I however, would like to do a bit of stryper fishing of course..
Did it once years ago with a guide and believe we looked for deep cuts and fished the bottom with live bait if memory serves correctly.

Any pointers would be appreciated

i have fished buch a lot for stripers but not lately. All the guides on buch use shad, 3-4 inches long, alive and frisky. Green slabs for whites. Buch does have 15 inch magnum whites, but twak has 2-3 lb whites. Twok the guides use shad and soft plastics. On buch I'm guessing this time of year you will probably find them mid lake in 30-50 ft water. Just east of flag island there is a bouy that marks the river channel . THats a good place to start. Then move over to striper island, north of there the willows is another spot. Lot of humps. See where the guides go and dont follow them but they will go to areas where they are at
