Any recommendations for piers or jetty’s down in Rockport? Me and the wife are looking at going down this weekend trying to catch some trout or anything else that’ll bite.

I used to fish Rockport as a kid but it’s been years since I’ve been back. Any tips I’d appreciate!

Thanks in advance! cowboy

As of now, Aransas County and Rockport city beaches, piers and boat ramps are still closed. You can't fish off the seawall in Rockport Harbor. You can't use the kayak launches(!). Goose Island State Park is kinda open, but you have to call for details. The fishing pier there hasn't been fixed since Hurricane Harvey, and there's probably not anywhere else to fish in the Park. Boat ramp is open. Port Aransas is now allowing fishing from the seawalls and jettys, only in the ship channel. Nueces County( Corpus & Padre) are open for fishing. All require keeping 6 feet apart, to keep from being 6 feet deep! We're all here, because we're not all there!

The really frustrating thing is that the restaurants are basically all closed! ............IslandJim...........

Many (most?) places down there have also banned short term housing leases for the time being, so finding somewhere to stay might be tricky too.

We only live a hour or so away. Just day tripping.

Aransas County has not put out a new order yet, but based on the Governor's action I would expect the beach to open Friday. I think Port A is open now.

Aransas county is going to open all boat ramps and beaches. Stores and restaurants at 25%. Goes into effect midnight tomorrow. Tackle Town has been open as have Port Bay and Sea Gun ramps.

Was down there this past weekend at our place and not many restaurants are open but a few are like Los Comales and Panjos.
