90% of the time I tie a knot my grandpa taught me as a kid. I have no clue what it's called. It's not all that different from a fisherman's knot. I can tie that knot blind folded in a hurricane. I know for certain it's not the strongest knot out there, but old habits die hard. Line has gotten so good in the last decade I can't remember the last fish I lost because I broke off at the knot. All that said, if I'm on trophy water I'm tying a Palomar knot. Crazy Alberto for braid to flouro.

Palomar 100% of the time line to hook/lure. Double Uni 100% connecting two lines or when spooling line on the reel.

Palomar, but with an Alberto for leaders.

Uni knot for the bait, double uni for the leader connection. Easy and fast, and retains 90% breaking strength according to Bassmaster magazine a few years ago.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I used Palomar almost exclusively for years.
After suddenly experiencing breakoffs with my normal line, I started trying the Trilene knot. The breakoffs went away.
