From my experience itโ€™s pretty slow, some guys can find them offshore. Not a numbers lake but there are some bigs in it.

Thanks for the response, must be a decent lake, with only one response, folks do not want to talk about it.

Went out a bit ago. Not much for numbers. It was fairly slow.

I hope it's better than what I am hearing lately, because it will be my "home" lake soon for 4-5 hour evening trips and possibly a few night trips if I see anything worth losing the sleep over.

You better check those ramp hours before planning a night trip. They lock a gate across the boat ramp at sundown.

There are good lakes around here but Weatherford is not one of them

I live 3 miles from it and have only fished it like 5 times. It sucks for numbers. They do catch a few big fish. It's a huge wake boat lake. Most weekends its so bad you want to start throwing 10XD's at them. PK, Benbrook, Granbury and Eagle Mnt are all within 1hr of Weatherford and much better lakes.

Same here, I'm 10 miles from it and I've fished it about 5 times as well. I have a friend who lives on it who swears he catches fish consistently - I've threatened to go out with him, but he wont go unless it's perfect weather, sunny and light winds.

No worries for me in that regard. I won't go near a body of water on a weekend. Retirement has it's advantages .....................

Thanks to everyone for the info and opinions.

I know that I can easily drive to Benbrook, Eagle Mtn, or Bridgeport for the day but I was thinking about 3-4 hour evening trips.

Like others said- there are big ones in it but it's not a numbers lake. You're fishin for one fish.
