Not looking for your honey hole or anything, but what is working right now? I don't mind searching, but just trying to narrow it down a bit...

Docks?
Coves?
Creeks?
Secret Brush Piles? smile

Launching from Little Elm Park on Friday, any tips appreciated! TIA

The best tip I can give you for LL is to find another Lake. With water above normal and gates open, the fishing is horrible.

So, you’re saying there’s a chance?

I too went out on LL yesterday with my wife, and only caught four crappie - two keepers. I could see the crappie on the brush on my HDS, but could not get them to bite the plastic; I felt them sampling, but just would not take it. I will tell you that shad colors seemed to get some minor reaction.

I fished the east side of the main lake. There were lots of boats out there when we arrived at 9:30 AM, but it seemed they were all fishing for the sandies - which were everywhere; birds were also very active.

Maybe if I tried minners, uh, oh, no - forget it.

Good luck, and don't give up.

Hey thanks everyone for the responses! I'm bringing a few rigs, so if I get skunked with the crappie then I can switch to target another species. The wife just really wants some dinner though.... smile

Falling water in a reservoir means tough fishing. I don't know why, but for me Crappie are hit an miss during the "hot spawn". I do better post spawn. Seems like they are more predictable. Spring for me on crappie is feast or famine, and when the water is dropping, probably famine
