Looking for some references for a good mechanic in the DFW area that can look at my lower unit on a 2015 Evinrude G2 250. Hit a stump at fork over the weekend and when I put it in gear, prop won't turn. Thought is would be just a spun hub, but I think it's more than that. Any names of someone who works on Envirudes is much appreciated!

Sorry, can't help on the mechanic part but I went through the insurance claim process about a year and a half ago after hitting stump. It went pretty smooth as far as the insurance company, no hassles whatsoever from Travelers on a new OEM lower unit. Good luck. There's a great guy over in Longview but not sure he does Evinrude.

If it’s serious then you’re better off to buy a new one. The cost of repairs will usually eat up the majority of the price of a new lower unit.
