I've been tying the Improved Clinch ever since Babe Winkelman taught me to when I was a kid.

The Trilene knot is one I've also used sometimes but its much more difficult to tie on a windy day.

When tying two lines together I use the uni knot.

For crankbaits I like a good loop knot.

What's yours?

Palomar is an excellent knot. If you ever need all of the line strength, then use the Osborn Overkill Knot. You may not need it, but how many times have you hooked into a huge fish and had your line break? Those are the fish I catch for state and world records. I almost always use the Osborn Overkill Knot in saltwater, if I am after line class records with small line, or if I want another ShareLunker lol.

I tie the Grisby knot for 15lbs and above, and less than 15lbs I tie the Grisby knot just double the line.

Palomar, slobbered on thoroughly and pulled down evenly and slowly. If it slips and "pops" into place while I am tying it I cut it off and start over.

Palomar 90% of the time. I'll use a trilene knot on one of a C-rig when I'm tying them. And with braid I use a double trilene knot.
