My bottle smells more like acetone than garlic. Plus, it’s darker and dyes the baits darker too.

Any good? If not, would being refrigerated between trips to help it last longer?

I don’t know about the refrigerator part . But yes they will go bad if left in the sun . I have found if I just keep it out of the sun it will last a long time ..

I do notice the sun changes the bottle color and dye just a bit. How old is your bottle? Mine pretty much stays in one of the cup holders next to the ice chest lid in my boat. Never noticed it not smelling like garlic every time I open it and it’s at least close to a couple years old.

Did you ever dip some z-man lures in that bottle or other elaztec baits?

This is the only time I’ve ever had my dye get darker. Tried dying a Zman razor shad and the tail melted off into the bottom of the dye bottle. Eventually the whole tail disintegrated and made the dye several shades darker.

Aaahh. Come to think about it I did have some craw trailer lose a claw in there. That could be it.

Thanks fellas. Time to toss it I guess and put the new bottle in a hatch or something out of the sun when I’m not using it.

I still have a bottle and use it but I switched the pen(or marker) and find myself using it much more often. Zero mess and no worries on spilling it.

If you don't have a day box or somewhere easy to store it in, then wrap the entire bottle in electrical tape. This will keep the sun light off of it for the most part and it won't darken near as quick.

I have some spray scents and prefer them at times but can’t dip craw claws and others plastics chartreuse.

Never tried the pens. Do they have scent too? I’d be afraid they’d dry out. Have you had issues with that?

.

I have a day box easy enough but good idea with the tape. I might do both!

Thanks RR but it’s not so serious that it calls for prayers roflmao and I can afford another bottle so don't bother with the go fund me bs. bang

I’d rather y’all just give me a holler when you come down to the border so we can have a beer together. Well, socially distanced of course! bolt I think the kayak crew would vouch for my hosting abilities. cheers

They have the same scent and have not had any issues drying out. At least not yet. My pens are 6 months old.

The pens are very good. When mine started drying up I poured a little out of bottle in it and it’s good as new
