I hope this post finds everyone well and in good health during this Covid-19 crisis.

It has been a stressful time for many including my immediate family.

I as well as my wife and both my sons are on the frontlines.

My oldest is an ICU nurse and he has had some Covid-19 patients that were in his care that are no longer with us.
Sucks!

I tried to take my father fishing on Tuesday and instead wound up at the Emergency room with him and he ended up with a 2 day stay at the hospital. We got his issue addressed and he is back to his normal self again.

He gave me a pretty good scare on Tuesday.

He decided he wanted to give fishing another shot so we went to Fork yesterday. I must say when we hit the water yesterday I thought it was winter and the wind was a very cold wind. Brrr. Certainly enjoyed the warmth later in the day.

We obviously could have caught plenty hitting the trees with Livescope, but it's been 2 years since we really got into them good with Bobbers. We decided to go see if we could find some and by 1pm we had one fish. hammer bang

Frustrating, but I then reminded myself I was on the water with my Dad who just 2 days ago was in the hospital.
I was getting to spend time with him and realized catching was not what was important and we have had our fair share of catching days. I told my Dad we would keep looking and enjoy the day together.

We rolled up into this one area that looked just as good as everything else we fished all day with one big difference.
There were 27 Crappie stacked in a 10 yard section we were fishing. We ended the day with 28 and we were ecstatic getting to watch our Bobbers disappear. That never gets old. We lost 6 for various reasons. At one time we both had fish on at the same time. That was fun. woot

I got a shot of the Livewell and I took a nice pic of Mom and Dad together.

Out of the 28 only 6 on that table were males. That really surprised me.

When they first come out of the water they were jet black mixed in with that beautiful Lake Fork Green.
The Green color Lake Fork Crappie are known for and they are just a sight to see in person.

We caught all fish 12 inches under a cork using minnows. 4.5 feet of water or less.

10 Foot ACC rods with a Mr. Crappie Spinning Reel.

Pink Jig Head with a Black Body Green Tail Bonehead Stump Bug.

Gonna give it a go again tomorrow and see what happens.

Either way trying to make the best of this real tough time in our history. texas

Thanks for letting me share.

Good times! Cherish time with your parents while you can, I buried my step father in early March and that's the end of the line for parents for my wife and I both.

Nice bunch of crappie there and some of those are really nice fish.
Glad you got to do this with your dad and had a successful trip.
Those memories will always be with you.

Good job, HOGON! You're very fortunate indeed!

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

A good reminder of what is important sir. Soon as this [censored] is over, I will head up to see my father in that neck of the woods. (Lake Winnsboro). Beautiful fillets too. Mine always look like I used the "Beaver Bit 2000".
