when a tournament of this size an scope is cancelled it is not a win for anybody ask the folks at lake fork that had every bed rented an the loss of income for all the folks around the lake.

I simply said some (locals) will be happy there won't be a couple of the big tournaments. I agree it will hurt the local economy

The businesses hurt by this will not be as cavalier as you. A day and a half of action on lake Fork is a mild price to pay for the weeklong boost to the local economy!

That definitely sucks for the business owners out here as it does for Skeeter. Big hit to the economy out here.

Lake Fork business owners could prolly fold up and blow away after this hit to the businesses and local economy. It's been tough enough over there without all the coronavirus and such.

Not sure about fork but I know Rayburn and Toledo it's been their best spring I can remember. More people on the water than I've ever seen for a spring. It's been absolutely crazy even during the week.

A friend who lives in Fork told me it's busier than he's seen it in many years.
Sucks the big events have to rescheduled, hopefully they can get them in this year.
If that many people are on the lake they must be spending money. I've actually seen posts where the locals were encouraging visitors to leave because they were buying up a lot of supplies and food around the lake...

the increase in business with the shutdown will maybe offset the loss of the skeeter week.
sucks for the businesses still.
skeeter, legend of fork, champs big bass, berkley etc. all bring a bunch of income for the businesses and I have never had a problem during skeeter, I just stay off the lake that weekend. I have the other 363 days to fish it.

Are the motels full with no tournaments going on? No,...from what I see it's mostly local daily fisherman. The food/beverage, lodging, and tackle sales is minimal.
