We have never fished Holbrooke. Me and the wife are thinking about heading there Saturday to do some bass fishing. If we could get a little info that would be great. Which boat ramp to use? What area of lake to fish? Any part of the lake we need to be worried about as for stupms etc? And if possible what bait as been working lately?

Thanks Mike

i have fished Holbrook a lot in the past, just not recently.
The west side boat ramp off 1799 is mid lake and you can drop your trolling motor and head north from there.
Most of the timber is down now but you should idle the north quarter of the lake.

There's only 2 public free ramps...one west and one south...we always go to west ramp ..it has bathrooms and a good ramp....and we go up north from there...Holbrook does not really have many stumps....haven't fish there this year yet ..there are always cattails along the bank to cast to and docks...and topwater bite has been good in the past to the right of the ramp were there are alot of cattails...CR2298

I was there Saturday, the restrooms at both county ramps are locked up. There is another ramp on the far north end like TxDan said and it will put you up on the best end of the lake for fishing in my opinion.

Depending on weather, there will be plenty of recreational boat traffic on the south end.

There's a long cove on the far northwest end of the lake that has a deep creek running through the middle, with with lots of timber. Might find yourself some "late bloomers" up in that area. Be sure to IDLE ONLY on the north end.

If you start off on the south end, it is wide open. You'll see some buoys mid-lake, be sure to IDLE ONLY north of them. The county ramp on the west side of the lake normally isn't as crowded as the main ramp on the east side.

White chatterbaits and Redbug trick worms. A bone colored yellow magic is good early around the docks.

Fished out there yesterday. Slower than expected but still caught enough for a fun trip. Pitched a Texas rig craw and a frog around reeds.

I went out there yesterday for a little tournament. My partner and I had 22.77 with a 8.33 big bass. They were eating a top water pretty dang good.
