Thanks for the post! Do you put a piece of pipe through the noodle? Or do you just use the noodle and wrap the line around it? Have never tried jug fishing before and would like to give it a go.

I "think" your jugs have to be WHITE? I'm not sure how strict game wardens are but everything i've read they are supposed to be white.
I could be wrong though.

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

I've fished with others using the pipe design and through about remaking mine that way this year. I decided against the extra expense and storage requirements.

That was the case for a long time but now they can be any color other than orange.

Last I checked color requirements depend on whether one has a commercial license.

Jugline
A fishing line with five or less hooks tied to a free-floating device.

For use in fresh water only.
May be used to take nongame fish, channel catfish, blue catfish and flathead catfish only.
Tagging and Marking Requirements
Must be used with a valid gear tag (see Definitions) attached within 6 inches of the free-floating device; gear tag is valid for 10 days after the date set out and must include the number of the permit to sell nongame fish taken from fresh water, if applicable. Properly marked buoys or floats qualify as valid gear tags.
For non-commercial purposes, a jugline must be marked with a free-floating device of any color other than orange.
For commercial purposes, a jugline must be marked with an orange, free-floating device.

No offense but everyone should use bigger floats. The big fish can pull that under and get hung up.

I use no less than 1 gallon jugs and they still get pulled under sometime.

PB flathead 34.5 lbs - I know it's small but it was still the record for Lake Travis when I caught it!
PB Blue 58.5 lbs jugline 43.5 lbs on R&R which was the other Lake Travis record when caught.
