Was so nice out I'm really surprised the fishing wasn't any better. But may have just been me!! ;-)
Lake jumped almost a foot since Sat wheb I fished last. Pines must be releasing water quick. Started in turtle shell and water temp was 60°! That's way cooler than Sat was. Pretty dang muddy there too. Stayed there about 45 mins then went to Ames Bayou and fished there some. Little clearer and slightly warmer. Went to Old Folks playground and it was 65 and not too muddy there but still no bites. Went to Tucker's and then down F row and fished back behind it. Water was really good looking there and was 64-66°. I finally caught a short bass on a chatterbait! Kept going down F row just hitting stuff that looked good and caught a 17.5" far slot on a squarebill off of a tree. I had already flipped the trees and wacky rigged them but guess it wanted the squarebill lol! Water looked better the closer towards LA I got and at Earl G besides being high looked great. Water was over the end of the dock and almost coming thru the grates all along it when I got back. Took lots of pics and will get them posted later on once at my computer.
