I have two, one on front using the trolling motor transducer, and one on the console with a transom external mount transducer. Both work great. couple of questions,.... lets us traditional sonar, 20 feet of water, and 18 1/2' boat' 1. front sonar: when I first see a object (brushpile) come on the screen, where is it in relation to the boat ? When I see the brushpile in middle of the screen where is it in relation to the boat..? 2. transom sonar: same two questions,...
boat going forward about 3 mph...
thanks Jim

1. When you first see something recorded (very first row of display pixels), it is below or directly to the sides (depending on the sonar technology) the transducer. After it is recorded, the location on the display can be any distance depending on the speed you are moving and the speed the display is scrolling. If you want to know the exact distance and direction, just push the 4-way button to pause the screen scrolling and move the screen curser to the subject. The distance and direction will be displayed as digital readouts.
2. Same applies to the transom transducer.
Also you if you leave the screen paused, you can go directly to the subject by observing those digital readouts and as you get closer, the distance readout will lessen.
