Marshall Branch that goes up into TC TC Creek . Since the lake is so far up you have to go up a bit to hit the creek. The creek that heads up to 1171 is a real good creek and should be good depth and conditions for sand bass. Creek 1171 Only thing is I don't like going up into the shallow creeks in the canoe, especially if they are silted like these two. The creek will go way back and get very narrow, narrow enough that you coundn't turn a long kayak around. I will paddle up when I get to @ 10ft and then walk or paddle only. Just do not want to mess with the Females in these tiny creeks. They need to take care of business. We will peak into these areas but don't spend much time in them at this point.

Gotcha ill look into those! a few weeks ago, Elizabeth was on fire I was able to catch just about as many fish as I wanted for a good week but they've pushed out since

there were a pile of trucks by the bridge off 35W Friday, thought for sure I'd see a post on here for what all the excitement was about but I haven't seen anything. It's a moot point now because it's chocolate milk.

Moot point.. Bingo. Rain jacked the creek up. Me and Mason hit the creek at 8am, hit 377 bridge and loaded up on shad. Thought we had .1 inches of rain, but that was not the case. Creek was stained and moving pretty good. The hole has light stained water (eLizabeth) joining chocolate milk from denton creek. We caught catfish in the hole, and below. Was intending on going up until we hit steps and pools but color was bad.. Had a blast, found about 40$ in lures stuck in trees (pulled down & picked up every bit of fishing line seen), and many cats.. Mason called the shots today , so I was along for the ride. Shad still at the log jam at 377 bridge, north side west of the train pillar.. 30 strong in one cast..
Heading to other creeks on upper end in a couple days..

Trophy Club park is closed.. Dont know when it will open. Farris branch boat ramp is open down the lake. Me and Mason went to Denton creek at 407, nothing caught in about 20 minutes. Never been there, looks good. Went to 35 bridge and walked up about 400 yards along the bank. Nothing caught or seen. Went below the 35 bridge about 300 yards and started catching crappie on a jig. Dragging the bait and barely working it, none caught unless we were making contact.. Caught them here:google map location Didn't go below this spot, just scouting for tomorrow. Going to launch at 35 I think, and work down. Water is lightly stained but pretty clear with a green tint. After looking at the pictures you can see the clarity. At 377 bridge its chocolate milk, with very little flow seen. Lake dropped about 3/4 foot from monday so the shad bait location is getting shallow at 377 bridge. I was using a small jig, and Mason was using a beetle spin. We used baits we found on monday as a challenge. Down on the creek it feels good, but up in the wind it's nippy.. Beware the mud along the banks, its slicker than owl snot in places.

Prosise, thanks for posting your adventures on the creek. Those lures are quite a collection and indication of options to catch fish. When I first started fishing D Creek around 1973 we would park along the tracks on 377 and hop out of the car and start running to see who could reach the big whole first. We used flee-fly jigs mostly or small rapalas. Starting up north along I-35 is interesting approach and I always wanted to see if I could reach the big hole going south from there.

Much appreciated. My life has always been about fishing. Period.. lost many girlfriends giving me a ultimatum between fishing and spending time with them.. It started when I moved to the country and we had several ponds that I was taken to by my parents. If they would not have done that I would have missed out on a wonderful outdoor lifestyle. It is one of the most rewarding hobbies, and I have met more "Good People" fishing.. That is why it is so important to take kids fishing when they will actually catch fish. It is no fun taking a kid out and getting skunked. It is all about the Kids remembering that time they caught all those fish with (Dad,Mom, Brother, Uncle, or Grandpa) You don't know what you don't know, and when someone shows you something new its rewarding. There is always something to learn, and patterns are easily crushed. Little man has really learned allot. He is using all my gear now, and I never thought that I would turn all my stuff over to anyone. But it's not my stuff anymore. It's our gear.. You should see him worm fish, he is a worm pitchin monster.. Shoot me an IM and maybe we can do a zoom meeting. Would love to hear the stories from the 70's.. I'm a 71 model, so I was still in diapers when you were doing your thing.. Thanks for the response, God Bless.

Now. I have to get my butt in gear, heading to 35 bridge and work down the creek. Hopefully a report by the end of the day. Not keeping fish today. Time to get Turd out of bed. Going to do some trash cleanup at 35 area this AM before we head down.

Hey thanks promise for your adventures and info. I need to launch a kayak close to Denton Creek. Farris ramp is too far. Is there a place to launch right at 35W? Need fish Denton Creek before. Thanks again for the info.

Those lost lures is why you use a cheap worm or shad.
Those plastics go through a lot of brush and are dirt cheap if you lose one
and they catch more fish.

We caught some Crappie but its not hot right now. Maybe with some minnows you could do better.. I would look around...

Short story for today, Denton Creek is broken.. (NOTE: We did not catfish) Fishing is Poor from i-35 down to 377 bridge (sandbass).. We worked every pool from I-35 and it was off today, might be the cold front but it was tough.. I worked hard with a jig today with only one small white, a large Gar, and one gaspergoo. Along the way we pulled every line & lure from the trees. Lure hunting was good.. Water color looks real good, clarity is doing much better. Water is deep, which is tough.. We went up Elizabeth as far as you can until it was about a foot deep. Has potential but we didn't do any good. Time will tell, but the trip down was really nice. Ran into a Turkey Hunter in a Kayak about half way down from I-35, never thought about that but he can cover allot of area this way..

I made a lure retriever out of an old pool cleaning pole. Mason wanted a picture of the big fish for today.
