Dropped an eight oz jig with a two inch mr fry fromThermocline lures next to a tree in fourteen ft of water. I had a hunch it wasn't a crappie after it just laid there when I set the hook. Several minutes later I got her in. 16.4 lbs of great eating.

wow, on an EIGHT ounce jig?
I bet that was quite a battle on crappie tackle!

Great catch, like riding a Brahma bull to check the mail,....Debbie had one last summer snapped her pole under the boat, bur she hand landed it on

Nice surprise! My wife and I regularly catch channel cats fly fishing with crawfish imitations and wooly buggers.
