I’ll start this by saying this was done in a small private pond and the bluegill are by no means slabs. But I recorded an interesting little video showing bluegill and other panfish eating bread straight from my hands. It’s a level of feeding aggression I rarely see outside of waters where the fish are fed daily and “trained” for this. Thought it might be appreciated here. Enjoy.

Bluegill are very aggressive especially in ponds. I have seen videos in the past showing them eating out of hands. Even saw videos of them jumping out of the water to grab bread out of a hand.

Side Note: Cool video and enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing. Also could not miss the No Trespassing Sign. Hope you had permission! Again enjoyed the video.

Thank you. It was fun being able to capture this in detail with the gopro.

Thankfully, pond access is for residents and it's in my apartment complex. The management is really relaxed anyway, seeing as to how they allow transplant of fish into the pond. There's even a big goldfish in there according to fishbrain.

In a pond on my family homestead, the bluegill will bite you as you swim in the water. It was a cool thing to experience as kids.
