I am adamantly against the govt telling us we can’t go fishing at this time and am said to see so many people willingly give up their rights for perceived safety.

However, organizing any type of social gathering is plain irresponsible at this time, whether it be church, fishing tournament, or a sports event.

People may NEED to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s to fix issues around the house, so I have no issues with those remaining open.

I also believe holding church celebrations at this time indoors is even more irresponsible.

just stopped by for a bag of popcorn. Texas has done a very good job of curving the crisis. I went to our place on cypress last week and the amount of ppl on the lake was staggering! I can see how it spreads. I think the orders need to be lifted and just let Darwin do his work. Everybody is everywhere except work. I have no problem with tournaments being ran right now. Everybody is on vacation right now spreading their filth anyways.

Yes, you have to unload your boat early to get a parking spot. Some lakes look like July 4th crowd on every watercraft imaginable.

I was wondering what Cypress was looking like, I bet it's wakebaord heaven with 9 year old zipping around on jet skis. I saw a houseboat out on Hubbard last week with 20+ people on it . You cannot fix stupid! LOL

The other thought, and I am sure since you are in the medical field you've heard, a lot of doctors say herd immunity works.

Areas with dense populations are going to spread it anyways. So many theories out there and several make sense.

But I agree 100% let the darwins be darwins! LOL

Cypress, that's in Franklin County, isn't it? As of today the Texas Department of State Health Services reports a grand total of one coronavirus case in Franklin County. What are the odds that you are going to acquire COVID-19 there?

I would say less than the chances that you will be killed in a car wreck. How many of you are still driving given the risk?

I'm pretty aware of the affect as are millions of small businesses people in this country, acutely aware.

100%, but we all need to virtue signal a bit more.

Furthermore, Buda can't quite comprehend that in order for my "personal choice" to affect another, they too would have had to make a "personal choice."

I wonder if Buda gets to go to work and make money?

It’s to bad all those book smarts don’t come with a shred of common sense. If your stupid decision furthers the spread it increases the odds it finds its way to my family, no matter what decision I make. You can stop coming at me personally now thanks.

My opinion is having these events while under the statewide order is a bad idea.

Now I’m done. Should have never mentioned anything about folks planning to call in, completely my bad. Next time I’ll just let it be a surprise.

I am ashamed of and embarrassed for some folks on this thread. If you call in and report, or support the act of turning in fellow anglers for fishing a tournament you have lost your mind. It is sad what we have become. Even in the midst of adversity one thing we cannot lose is our ability to use critical thinking and think for ourselves. It is safe enough to go to the grocery store, go to the liquor store, go to Home Depot, and to go fishing. But not safe enough to weigh fish in? Pure lunacy. The freedom that some of y’all are willing to give up is disgusting.

Seems more like you’re trying to just use the Numbers to feel like someone is trying to strip your liberties instead of keep A bad situation from getting worse. It does suck. And I guess anything can be justified. The email I got from media said this weekend by the way, April 18.

No. Those models and death projections were put in place WITH the shelter in place orders and social distancing guidelines INCLUDED.

“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” You sir, deserve neither liberty nor safety. The one time we are challenged to live up to what our country stands for, we have a bunch of outdoorsman from Texas cowering in their bedrooms calling the state to turn in fellow anglers. Unbelievable.

With all this common sense you claim to have all you need to do is grow a pair and live life.

From a BUSINESS stand point though, why should his non essential business get to break the rules and start profiting, while people like my barber sit at home worrying about how to cover their bills? Because we WANT to fish. Again still see both sides. You have to balance of liberty issue with common sense I guess. Seems like everyone has a different opinion of what that is.

Gordon could be stir crazy or maybe he needs to work to feed the family who knows.

Like I said before I hate to see Bass Tournament Fishing be “messed with” by the state if he draws attention to it.

But I am not gonna judge him for it.

And the Home Depot being essential.....sure it is but only open essential sections. Like Chris b said shut down the flower section and the traffic will be half.

How is my "stupid decision" going to find its way to your family if they're hunkered down in a bomb shelter with you? Something you know about the virus that the rest of us don't?
