I haven't been there since I was a kid living in Rockport but I am going stir crazy and thinking of launching out of Seadrift where we keep our boat and going camping there next weekend..

What is current status?

water depth (I can run in a ft but need about 18" to take off on hard bottom)

camping being forbidden with the CV19 [censored]?

Thanks

Current status is stay home. From Matagorda to Aransas Pass they're telling us don't travel to their towns.

I hear ya. Been at home for 3 weeks now. Out of all my fishing buddies I'm the only one doing what is being asked and it's tough. Stir crazy doesn't quite cover it lol. But the sooner everyone is in board with this order the sooner this will pass.

Well
I think if we go camp on a remote beach and go fishing I fail to see how we are putting ourselves or others at risk

I don't know if camping at Cedar Bayou is permitted under the Aransas County rules. Cedar Bayou is filled in at the gulf end. You can get to within about 400 yards of the old stopping point then it gets really shallow. Should have no trouble getting to the islands if you want to camp there. I have seen some people camping at Dead Man's Point (by Paul's Mott) in Aransas Bay.

That's a moral decision for you sir.

It sucks I know. Been a frustrating few weeks for sure. Hopefully it gets better before long.
