Well Catfanman the lure on top is a casting lure or one that you can troll with. It's a deep diver rattle trap type lure. Works great. The two on bottom are flutter jigs. They do just that. They will flutter when falling and sometimes when you are picking them up. Whites (Sand Bass) will hit them on the fall most of the time. Hybrid and Striper will hit them right after they hit bottom and start up. Also they will hit it when you are reeling it in whether it be vertical or horizontal. So you can let it fall to bottom and work the rod tip up and down. You can use short strokes or long ones. I usually do 2 to 4 feet for hybrid and striper, 4 to 10 feet for Sandies. You can cast the jigs too and reel them back in horizontally. One more if there are striper involved in the summer time when the water is very warm they will move to the depths. You can do what is called burning them in. Get in some deep water (Texoma Dam) drop the lure to the bottom and reel it in as fast as you can. It is a fun and fast way to fish and when the striper hit it it's like you hooked a dead weight. Some of the most fun fishing I have ever had. Now all you need is a boat, some water and fish and you are ready to go. These are the ways that I have been taught and have used effectively. By no means is it the only way you can fish these lures. The key is just have some fun.

Any bend in the flutter spoon, the better this time of year. Slow down the fall due to water temps, produces more strikes.

Always be prepared for the strike on the fall that’s why it’s called a flutter spoon I’m talking out in open water. Stay in contact with the bait and recognize that when the bait stops on the fall it’s not the bottom sometimes it’s a fish that has caught it. You better have excellent thumb control on your spool on a bait caster as well it’s very hard to do with a spinning rig because you can’t Thumb it to stutter or even detect a bite on the fall unless they engulf it!
