Fished from 7:30-2:00, wind was low-breezy from the SW, water stained with good visibility, air temp in the 80s-90, water temp 65. Caught a 1 pounder at 8:30 way up in a pocket off the east side of the long peninsula in the middle of the lake. Went until 12:00 without another bite, then caught 4 fish between 1.5-2.5 lbs in 30 minutes in the creek in the area I fished to the Southwest, shown in the pic.

Things I learned:
1. All the fish I caught were in 3 ft of water within 10 feet of the bank. 4/5 around grass, which was my gameplan given my previous post's responses.
2. Little Caney must be a producer. There were at least 25 boats in the 1 mile of the creek that I cruised up. Didn't even stop to fish.
3. I have no idea how I can fish hundreds of yards of the same looking bank without a bite, and then catch 4 fish in 30 casts over a 100 yd stretch.
4. A lot of people just cruising through creeks without even getting a rod out; I assume they are looking for fish on beds. Seems kinda boring.
5. Apparently a lot of people are finding time to get out and fish during quarantine. For a Wednesday, there was an absurd number of boats out. If one of you guys did well and can offer some good insight, I'd really appreciate it.

Third trip to Fork, didn't get zeroed this time. While that's obviously improvement, it feels like I'm missing something key here. It was a phenomenal day, conditions-wise. I feel like I should have caught more than 5 fish in 6.5 hours of fishing hard.

spring time here is always bad for crowds....just the way it is....this year it is worse. The best thing I can tell you is fish places others are not....get into the mess way back in every cut on main lake....that is how I do it on Fork....community holes and obvious spots get hammered by the masses.....frog bite is on, would not start a day without throwing popping frog up on the dirt

I've never retired a frog in one day before until yesterday on Fork. NICE fish 3-5 1/2 pounders were eating it from 7 to 12:30. Find BIG areas with LOTS of vegetation and decently dissect the abnormalities. Also, get you some good polarized sunglasses and really pay attention for movement in the water. I caught a couple bed fish yesterday that were almost impossible to see due to them being a foot or 2 deeper than others. Luckily they were angry and bit pretty quickly.

Thank you for sharing one of the best reports with Earth View that has been put on here in a long time. With low wind thank about fishing staging areas that extend out half way across some of the coves and working the 15 to 20 contour out and around those. Fish stack up on these Cove Blockers coming in and going out. Always fish areas that would not normally be accessible because of heavy wind. Heavily wind blown areas do not get fished as often by the crowd on the water; so take advantage of your calm days. The less wind in the shallows makes Bass more aware of your presence. Less wind over deep water structure and irregular 20 foot contours allow them to image bait above them better and start to feed. When there is light to no wind I leave the shallows and move to the areas that do not get fished as much; but they have to serve the purpose for feeding fish holding on irregular features close to deep water. It takes a lot of research to find all of those ahead of time and mark them down for a calm day.

Not sure but it looks like they quick letting water out so fishing should start picking up.

Being crowded the way the lake fishes is never that bad IMO, the bad part about being crowded is dealing with it at the ramps and trying to find a parking spot if you are like me and prefer fishing the afternoon hours this time of year

I was there yesterday for the same time period as I needed to leave early in order to get back for my son’s birthday. Yesterday was my third consecutive day. Starting with the two days before, I was strictly sight fishing and catching anywhere from 15-20 a day (with passing up anything under 3 pounds). Almost every fish was in the 3-5 pound range. I had two 6’s and two 7’s. All of these fish were caught in the same relative area. Now, day three I wanted to try areas I’ve never fished. I learned a lot quickly and was able to eliminate a lot of water at the same time. I started throwing moving baits and caught 5 fish and then made a move and tried another new spot. I found some coves that were glass and was able to find some spawners and caught a bunch of those. With that being said, they were much smaller than my previous two days (mainly due to location/terrain). I ended up catching 13 and headed back to celebrate little man’s birthday.

Fished 4/8 as well. Focused on wind blown main lake points to avoid the crowds. Caught 6 on big square bills and swimbaits. 2-7, 1-5 and 3 smaller fish.

Fork is the mother of the concept "spot on spot"! You were in high probability areas, there are just those small changes in the structure or cover that make areas where fish congregate. You also could have just found the few fish that were active. Or you changed your presentation when you caught your first fish in that area and concentrated more...
