Where is local? DFW? If so then a really nice fish is 20+. If you catch a 30+ you've joined the ranks of a handful of anglers. For Carp ofc. Buffalo get slightly bigger.

When I was 10 fishing lake Lewisville, 30 lbs. Buffalo and 25+ lbs. Carp were Common.

Lewisville is known for dinks nowadays. If you break 10lbs on a Carp or Buff there you had a good day. There are some 20+ Carp around but they're super rare.
