I know this topic seems to be discussed yearly, but what do you think?
1. Is she swimming right now (High fence or public)? 2. What lake do you think? 3. Which lake is the next lake to bust loose with SAL's? 4. Did Barry catch her on the minnow or the crappie? 5. What is your guess for the state record weight for the 2 new Texas lakes?

Doubt it ... We had some heavy freak fish caught this year in the 15lb class though. When you start seeing a heavy 16 or 17 then you can start the conversation in my opinion

No, maybe not in public waters anyway. The biggest fish to make news in the last 10 years that was even 2-3 pounds of it was the one Mark posted some guy caught at Fork but no one has seen, LOL

I believe that there is a state record LMB swimming around somewhere in Texas, EVENTURLLY, someone may luck out and catch her, but they may to as well. I KNOW it WONT come form some lakes, but some heavy bets might be on Fork, ALan Henry, OH Ivie, BIG Sam, Toledo Bend or Falcon. Just some random thoughts about the state of our fisheries. Forgot to mention Camelot Bell, too.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

The state record is out there. It lives in Caddo Lake near Goat island where no bass boat would dare to go. It is feeding on adult gizzard shad.

I like to think so, maybe a smart and lucky one in the 18 lb range dies every year somewhere off the normal path, maybe hunkered under a big marina. There have only been a couple verified within 3 lbs of the record in the last 5 years Fork and Caddo if I’m not missing something. Those Fork bass just don’t put on the quick football weight like they did back in the good old days. Would still go with Fork, Toledo, SamR, and Caddo as the most likely bets but there have been some “eye openers” in the past from some of the lakes in the western half of the State so who knows.

You have left out Amistad. Over the 35 years of fishing this lake I have seen two Bass in the 25 lb class. They are very close to over 100 ft of water and are concentrating heavily on the pound Shad or Bass that she just knocked out. Neither fish would pay any attention to my Spook and I missed being able to snag the pray before she took it and disappeared. I was really shock up both time. These fish were 5 years apart and 2 miles apart. I was top watering these areas when I heard the explosion and was trying to snag the Bass and Shad as they were doing that dying quiver on the surface. I was within 5 yards of both fish as they took the pray. It is harder than you thank to get a hook in a floating Shad or Bass and I truly believe that is the only way you are going to catch a World Record.

I believe she is swimming in public waters! Try asking Barry for your answer all else is speculation.
